First Unitarian Universalist Society of Marietta Green Sanctuary Committee Meeting 12:35 p.m., Sunday, January 17, 2010 FUUSM Parlor, RE building *Attending: *Carolyn Waltzer, Brad Bond, Barbara Dernberger, Shari Miller, Dave Ballantyne, Debra Miller, Elin Jones, Pati Troisi, Ralph Olander, Jim Grecni, Sara Lamb, Roger Kalter, Stassa Phillips, Leila, Mike Bailey, Adeline Bailey. Mike Bailey chaired the meeting. *Nature Conservancy Bag* Mike showed the bag donated by John Brewer. Using GS funds, Debra Miller is to purchase tools to outfit the bag to use as a prize for either Earth Day or the Service Auction. The committee revisited the question of what event would give the most return for the donation. Put to a vote, the Service Auction was designated. *Harvest Dinner/Community Garden* Sara Lamb and Debra Miller presented a list of possible menu items that could be readily available for harvest from the garden at the time of the Service Auction. Those suggestions will be given to Barbara Dernberger and Joan Coffey to aid in seed ordering. There was also discussion of possible canning or freezing of earlier harvested garden produce that could be part of the menu. *Green Solutions booklet* Adeline says it is in final stages, and she hopes to have it done by the February meeting. *Earth Day* Sara Lamb asked that Mike confirm that no other groups are doing a composting demo or activity. GS members are to continue collecting recycled containers for the project. *Green Products* Carolyn Waltzer announced that there is fair trade coffee available from the Silver Bridge Coffee Company, located in Gallipolis, Ohio. She has found their coffee at Foodland in Belpre; others have purchased it at the Marietta Farmers Market. *Adjournment* The meeting was adjourned early because of other schedule commitments.
