Ongoing Programs

In the area of Outreach/Social Action, we participate in the UUSC sponsored “Guest at Your Table”, an “Empty Bowls” fundraiser that we originated and now conduct in conjunction with an Episcopal and a Congregation church in town. Proceeds
Soup Serving line go to the local food pantry.  Also to benefit the food pantry, we conduct the “Great Community Paper Airplane Contest” when people from the community join us in several events involving the launch of paper airplanes from the choir loft.

The annual “Twelfth Night” concert by the Mid-Ohio Valley Renaissance Consort raises funds that are split between our Building Fund and some local charity. Another annual fundraiser we conduct is the Marietta Garden Tour, that involves visits to three or four gardens in the Marietta area, a plant sale at the church, and refreshments and entertainment in the courtyard.

Art in sanctuary Every May, services are dedicated to appreciation of art.  The A-May-zing Month of Art finds the sanctuary festooned with all kinds of art made by members and friends.

Several years ago we received certification as a Welcoming Congregation and this year we are embarking on a similar effort to become a Green Sanctuary.

As we have done in the past, we are always on the lookout for opportunities to join other community and religious groups in events and programs dedicated to promoting peace, and social and economic justice.
